The M&A Club is pleased to launch 20 × 10 × 1, a new networking and discussion concept designed for young professionals from member firms.

What would you ask a recognized business leader if you had a genuine opportunity to speak with them openly, in a small group and without filters?

For its inaugural edition, 20 × 10 × 1 will bring together 20 young professionals for an exclusive, direct and confidential conversation with Jean-François Courville, Vice-President, Quebec — Roynat Capital (Scotiabank).

The experience will take place over two complementary meetings.

Meeting 1 — Preparation

September 24, 2026 | 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Scotiabank, Sherbrooke

The first meeting will focus on the participants.

It will provide an opportunity to get to know one another, expand their networks and collectively explore the guest’s career journey. The group will then identify the topics worth discussing before developing, refining and assigning the 10 questions that will guide the October 14 conversation.

This step is essential: the goal is to arrive at the second meeting with thoughtful, relevant questions that reflect the interests and concerns of the next generation.

Meeting 2 — The Conversation

October 14, 2026 | 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.

Then, the conversation begins.

Participants will ask Jean-François Courville 10 questions about his career, the decisions that shaped his professional journey, the challenges he has faced, the lessons learned from failure, his perspective on the economy and the business world, and his advice for the next generation of professionals.

Then, for the final 10 minutes, the roles will be reversed.

Jean-François Courville will ask one question of the next generation, giving him an opportunity to discover their perspectives, ambitions and ideas.

Ten questions. Then one.

No prepared remarks. No recording. No panel.

Simply a small-group conversation designed to encourage direct, spontaneous and authentic dialogue.

Everything shared in the room will remain confidential and non-attributable, creating a space for candid discussion and the questions people do not always have the opportunity to ask.

The preparation meeting is an integral part of the concept. Attendance at both meetings is therefore mandatory.
